I Have the Speech for the 2012 Republican National Convention!Posted November 06, 2009 - 9:36:05 AM by Pug

We're still 2 and a half years away from the 2012 Republican National Convention, but already I have come up with the perfect speech for whoever the candidate is (and here's hoping that nominee is Mike Huckabee).  I mean, it is absolutely perfect!  Just get a load of some of these awesome lines from it...

"The first Republican president once said, 'While the people retain their virtue and their vigilance, no administration by any extreme of wickedness or folly can seriously injure the government in the short space of 4 years.' If Mr. Lincoln could see what's happened in the last 3 1/2 years, he might hedge a little on that statement."

See?  Good stuff, huh!  I mean, just look at what Obama is trying to do here... national health care... national debt and deficit spending out of control (11 TRILLION!?!?!)... cap and tax... fake stimulous (a.k.a. porkulous).  Things could be really ugly by the time the nominee reads this speech!

Here's another golden section from the 2012 Republican nominee's speech.  I'm telling you... this stuff is good.

"The major issue of this campaign is the direct political, personal, and moral responsibility of Democratic party leadership, in the White House and in the congress, for this unprecedented calamity which has befallen us. ... [We] are not going to accept the notion that we can only make a better world for others by moving backward ourselves.  And those who believe we can have no business leading this nation. I will not stand by and watch this great country destroy itself under mediocre leadership that drifts from one crisis to the next, eroding our national will and purpose."

OK, here's a little secret.  This speech has already been delivered.  It was delivered nearly 30 years ago.  It ...

Kevin McCullough: “Huckabee IS the Reagan in waiting.”Posted October 21, 2009 - 1:55:16 PM by Pug

A great excerpt from Kevin McCullough's blog.  You can read the full thing here:

Quote:
Huckabee IS the Reagan in waiting. He’s the most humble of the three Governors. He has the ability to take a room filled with tension and dissolve it with laughter. He has the best brand emerging into the narrative of the post 2008 election cycle. And he has the ability to cross all kinds of typical, narrow, sliver-like divisions and bring new people into the conservative fold.

Most underrated is his ability to think on his feet, and to speak clearly, plainly and very simply, yet with clearly conservative positions that advance the idea of limited government, strong national defense, personal responsibility/reward, and most importantly he will have the strong, overwhelming support of the base of the party that was so detestable to McCain.

His humility will shine like a spring of fresh water against the desert of Obama’s arrogance. His message of ending the federal government’s ability to bully you with the IRS will be in direct contrast to Obama’s use of all political office elements to hurt his political opponents.
He will also have 2-3 years worth of “debates” on tape dealing with all sorts of messy political issues from his shows on Fox, where he is currently inviting 2-3 liberals per time to come on and debate the merits of his positions on issues. He had already won the vast majority of the Republican debates in 2008, but this sort of weekly interaction is only making him even BETTER as a public communicator.

And ultimately THAT is his biggest similarity to Reagan. Both were Governors, both used media to advance their message, ideas, and solutions following a failed primary in which both finished in second place. Both had the ability to reach people that had been turned ...

Some Great New Anti-Obama Bumper Stickers!Posted October 15, 2009 - 8:58:51 AM by Pug

It's about time I added something new to the PLog, don't you think?  I know, it's been forever!  I just never seem to find the time.  There are so many things I could have posted and written about... but anyway, I found some of these Anti-Obama bumper stickers (sent to me from Rachel's dad - Thanks!) hilarious!  As much as I would like to put something like that on my car, I'd be too scared someone would destroy my car in typical flaming liberal fashion (they can dish it out easy enough, but boy they sure have problems taking it, don't they?).  Remember in one recent election where they slashed all the tires of the cars that were going to be used to take people to go vote?  Plus, I just don't like bumper stickers.  Even still, it is fun to think about.

Anyway, here are some of my favorites!  I think you might enjoy them!

Divorce AgreementPosted June 18, 2009 - 9:33:12 AM by Pug

Got this email forwarded to me... I thought it was a good read, but instead of re-forwarding it, I will post it here and let you make a comment if you like.

-----------------------------------------------

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is a model separation agreement:

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell (You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them).

We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens. We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood.

You can make ...

Is it just me, or...Posted May 13, 2009 - 11:43:52 AM by Pug

...is the internet completely overrun with flaming liberals?  Maybe I just have a bad taste in websites I visit/stumble upon, but in general (how about a broad generalization, anyone?), all the people who write stuff online (journalists, bloggers, and retarded people who post comments... not here obviously, but, for instance, YouTube) completely disagree with my point of view.  And maybe I'm just a weird one and maybe I shouldn't be connecting my lack of like-minded web surfers to some farfetched connection to Republicans vs. Democrats online, but this has been something I have noticed for a looooong time.

Anyway, the reason I bring this up is that, yes, I watch American Idol.  I have never really watched it in the past, but since there was a guy (who I'm sure you have heard of by now), Danny Gokey, who was from Milwaukee that had a real shot of winning... well I think that has what has really kept my interest more than anything else.  Of course I am probably biased, but I truly think he is the best one out of all the people that have been on this season.  And he is obviously getting a lot of support from other people out there too because he has never once been in the "bottom three" of the lowest vote getters any week.

To make my point clearer you also need to know that there is another guy, Adam Lambert, in the "top 3" that has apparently already been anointed as the winner.  He is a rocker-type who is full of himself, completely flamboyant, probably gay, and from Hollywood to boot.  Every single time he sings he feels the need to throw in this god-awful shriek... the guy is a total drama queen.  Basically, he ...
