The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

OK, so I don't know if any of you are like me, but sometimes I completely miss replies to certain topics because they get buried under newer topics.  There is an "Active Topics" feature, but right now it is very basic and only shows active topics since your last visit. (Maybe I will expand on Active Topics later, not sure)

Well, now I am happy to introduce the newest feature (100% hand coded as always!) to Pug's Forums...

Subscriptions!!

Now whenever someone replies to a topic that you have subscribed to, you will be sent an email notification that someone has replied.  Whenever you go to post a new topic or a new reply, you will see a little check box near the Submit button to add that topic to your subscriptions.

Right now I have that check box checked by default.  If you all think it would be better to have it unchecked by default, just let me know by replying to this topic.

I also made it very easy to see all your current subscriptions as well as remove any of them.  You can see your current subscriptions by clicking the "Manage My Subscriptions" in the Forum Control Panel. Click here to go see your subscriptions now.

As usual, please let me know what you think!  Thanks!

Can you include the text of the reply into the email we receive?

Reply To zoltar:

I have thought about doing that... and I am still on the fence.  I know it would be convenient, but I also want more traffic on my site! Big Smile

I have taken your request "under advisement". Smile

Reply To Pug:

I would just try to make it as easier as possible to the end user.  Otherwise, we get a bunch of email subscriptions and we don't know what is what.
